Best Trigger – What The Pros Use

Remington Trigger

I’ve heard a couple of the most respected shooters in the world recommend the first step to make a rifle more accurate should be upgrading the trigger and after that upgrade the barrel. In fact, this week I read an interview with Daniel Horner, a guy who was on the Army Marksmanship Unit forever and won the national 3 gun championship many times. He was asked, “What’s the first modification that you’d make on any platform?” and he said “The trigger, without a doubt. TriggerTech Diamond Trigger

Over the next few posts, I’ll share the top precision rifle products that caught my attention at SHOT Show 2018. It’s impossible to see everything at the show, but these are the items I noticed that I thought my readers might like to know about. The new Diamond trigger is adjustable from 4 ounces to 2 pounds, and has ...

I recently surveyed the top 100 shooters in the Precision Rifle Series (PRS), and this year I included a question to capture what trigger these elite shooters were using in 2015. The PRS tracks how top competitors place in major rifle matches across the country. These are the major leagues of sniper-style competitions, with targets typically from 300 to ...

Custom 7mm Rem Mag

I recently had a custom rifle built that was chambered as a 7mm Remington Magnum. I plan to use it as a dual-purpose rifle: Precision rifle matches (target shooting out to 1000 yards) Hunting (primarily whitetail & mule deer and the occasional wild hog) I did a ridiculous, almost embarrassing amount of research before landing on the 7mm Rem Mag cartridge. After losing a deer last year, I wanted to make sure it had enough energy to put an animal down quickly. There is no such thing as overkill. With that mindset, I actually started by looking at the 300 ...
