I started PrecisionRifleBlog.com in my spare time, in hopes that the content might make it easier for hunters and new shooters get into this sport that I’m so passionate about. I was just documenting stuff as I learned, and it’s grown from there. I pay for virtually all of the stuff I write about out-of-pocket, because I’m passionate about this long-range shooting, love learning and experimenting, and love helping fellow shooters.
Manufacturers have contacted me to “support the website” by making donations or becoming an advertising partner. However, I feel part of the value I offer is being completely independent. I say it like it is, not as a firearm companies want to hear it. At this point, I’ve turned down the offers, so that I’m not limited in what I write or compelled to pull punches when reviewing products. That’s why I have so much fun doing this: I write about whatever intrigues me and whatever I think is helpful, with only your long-term best interests at heart.
I’ve recently tried to find ways to monetize the website in a way that isn’t too annoying or intrusive to my readers and allows me to remain independent. So far, the website and tests have cost me far more than it’s made … but my goal isn’t to make a money off this website, it’s simply to help people. I have a great job that I love in an unrelated industry, and I’m content with my pay there. This website is just something I do in my spare time to give back to the community and promote precision rifle shooting.
Ways To Support
I have lots of ideas for exciting projects, but the cost of test equipment, ammo, barrels, and related items adds up pretty quick. So if you’ve found my content helpful, and would like to support what I’m doing, there are 2 ways to do that:
The Free Way
If you buy stuff off Amazon, use the link below and I get credit regardless of what you get or from what country you order … and you pay not a penny more! Amazon has an affiliate program that pays a small advertising fee when readers use links from my website to buy stuff on Amazon. You still get your stuff at Amazon’s great prices, and you can help support PRB at the same time.
Use this link to get your underwear, ammunition, cheese balls, music, books, watches, lawn furniture, diapers, coffee or whatever, and it’s all helps me keep adding to this site.
Note: PrecisionRifleBlog.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com.
Make A Donation
I never want to guilt someone into donating. I give all my content away free, and have no plans to change that. But if you feel compelled to give, I do promise every penny will go straight into future projects and posts.
Every single contribution, regardless of how trivial it may seem, is an enormous help since I’m just one guy. (I’m not a tax deduction; in fact, I pay income taxes on everything you send me!) I genuinely appreciate each and every bit you share to help me help everyone.
