With the release of Clint Eastwood’s movie, American Sniper, this weekend, I thought it might be fitting to look at the favorite rifles of the American hero, Chris Kyle. This post reviews the rifle stocks and chassis the best precision rifle shooters were using in 2014. The data is based on a survey of the top 50 shooters in the Precision Rifle Series (PRS). The PRS tracks how top competitors place in major rifle matches across the country. These are the major leagues of sniper-style competitions, with targets typically in the 300-1000 yard range. There are two types of adjustments you can make on the McMillan A5 stocks: Adjust Length of Pull (LOP) Adjust Comb (i.e. cheek piece) Both of these adjustments are designed to provide better site acquisition, comfort, and control of your weapon.  These same adjustments are common on most of McMillan tactical style stocks (A3, A4, A3-5, etc), as well as some competition and other models of stocks.
